We synthesise and study supramolecular polypyridine macrocycles that contain covalently linked photosensitising and/or water reducing moieties. A further goal is to immobilize polypyridine macrocycles on a substrate. This might enhance the performance of photocatalytic hydrogen production and make the used photocatalysts recyclable.
